Most of the people who come to the Centre have heard about
it through family or friends or from professionals such as doctors, nurses,
clergy or social workers. A telephone call (0141 333 0730 ) is all that is required in order to
get an appointment to see one of our staff.
Everyone who contacts who contacts the Garnethill Centre will usually be seen within two to three weeks. The person and the therapist then work together to assess whether or not our services will be of help. If so, then a series of weekly appointments, usually 8, is set up, with careful ongoing monitoring of progress. For some people this may be sufficient. Others decide to continue working in individual sessions. We are able to provide psychodynamic counselling or psychoanalaytic psychotherapy, according to the needs and circumstances of clients, or they may decide to join one of our therapy groups. Fees: As a charity, the Garnethill Centre charges fees solely to cover costs and is significantly less expensive than private providers of similar services. We are in a position to provide some reduction in fees for those who are not able to afford the full fee. This reduced fee is normally available to those who are not in employment or receive benefits. An agreement is made at the first session regarding the amount payable.
