Diploma9 - Assessment
Assessment for the Diploma

The assessment process will be both formative and summative and will include:

1. Self-assessment, which will be ongoing, based on the trainees' understanding of their personal growth in skills, knowledge and self-awareness, and of the overcoming of obstacles: as attested by trainees' satisfactory participation in the skills training work, practice sessions and tutorials, and completion of written assignments.

2. Course staff assessment. Course staff will contribute to the assessment process at all stages of the course, with the following limitation: The Conductor of the Awareness Group will be able to report on trainees' general progress in ability and motivation to use the Awareness Group; however, content of the proceedings and of trainees' personal contributions remains confidential to the Awareness Group, and will not be communicated by the Group Conductor.

3. Supervision of their 100 hours of counselling practice, and supervisor's report.

Use of audiotapes and videotapes of skills practice interactions will also be part of the assessment procedure.

Trainees are accepted on the contractual basis that the Course Committee reserves the right to require any trainee to withdraw from the course in the event of unsatisfactory progress.
