The course will operate over a period of two and a half years, meeting throughout on Wednesday evenings, with two Friday-Saturday meetings in Part 1, then six Saturdays a year, all of which together with supervision and tutorials will constitute 401 training hours. The distribution of these training hours will be as follows:
Part 1: February to September 2010.
This will incorporate Modules 3 and 4 of the Counselling Skills Course plus additional hours of work (referred to as 'the Augmentation'). The Augmentation will take place at the end of Module 4 and will comprise two Friday evening meetings, and the two Saturdays following. The time-line of these Friday/Saturdays will be: Friday 5.15 to 9.00 pm with an interval; Saturday 9.15 am to 5.15 pm with intervals.
Part 2: October 2010 to June 2011, and
Part 3: October 2011 to June 2012.
The format for Parts 2 and 3 will be the same, namely each year will comprise 3 terms of 11 Wednesdays and 2 Saturdays. Wednesday meetings will be from 5.00 to 8.45 pm with an interval. Saturdays will be from 9.15 am to 5.30 pm with intervals. Lunch is not provided on Saturdays, but tea and coffee are available during other intervals.
In addition, tutorials and supervision take place at other times by arrangement.
Attendance at 85% of the course work is a COSCA requirement.
